League Of Legends Review

League of Legends, LoL for short, is a 3D fantasy MMO ‘AOS’ (Aeon of Strife) game published by Riot Games. Those familiar with other ‘Aeon of Strife’ games like Defense of the Ancients (DotA), Heroes of Newerth (HoN) or even Heroes of Avalon should be able to quickly familiarize themselves with League of Legends, as these Aeon of Strife games are all very similar – at least in terms of core gameplay. Those unfamiliar with the genre should certainly check out the game’s tutorial after first logging in, as League of Legends is a difficult game to master and the tutorial is a MUST for new comers to the genre.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim review

Don’t worry, I’m not going to spoil anything here – I’ll steer clear of anything story-related beyond the premise. With another game, that would be tricky. With Skyrim, the stories that come from how the game works are often the best ones.

It’s a frozen nation, just to the north of where the previous game, Oblivion, took place. A pleasantly brief introduction sets up the plot: Skyrim is in the middle of a revolt, you’ve been sentenced to death, and dragons have just shown up. Good luck!

Dead Space review

I loved Dead Space, I thought it was fantastic, but despite this, I knew there were key areas that could be improved on. (who needs to see the same areas over and over and over). But yet, with Dead Space 2 I knew it would be tough for Visceral and EA to make significant improvements, but they have. And what a game it makes.

Crysis 2, PC review

New York City devastated by an Alien virus, the world, as we know it on the verge of total anarchy. What makes the situation even worse the Aliens from the first game are back and this time they look like they are here in force, a full-blown invasion.

Making your way through a battle torn New York City is gut wrenching at times. There are signs of the devastation and the horrors that the virus itself has brought down upon the city. There are bodies piled up in some places’ and even some survivors who seem sick and very much infected by the virus.

Shift 2, good but ...

I am in favour of the RPG-ification of all things. I want points for successfully waking up in the morning, points for getting my legs through the right holes in my trousers, points for not falling over and voiding my bowels on the way to work. Shift 2 has the right idea: it gives me points for everything.
I overtake another car and the invisible car god of the sky gives me 20 points. I stymie a rival’s progression through the pack by weaving my multi-thousand dollar machine in front of his, and he gifts me another ten. All points from my benevolent driving lord go toward Shift 2’s career mode, and fuel a healthy and compulsive unlock schedule that makes me want to swear undying fealty to my new car god and kill all unbelievers.

World of Tanks. Drive historically accurate World War II tanks !!!

This absolutely brilliant tank warfare game snuck up and caught me by surprise a few weeks ago, and I’ve been playing it solidly ever since. It’s a simple enough concept – a PvP WWII tank warfare game that pits teams of 15 players against one another in a number of superbly designed, European-themed battlegrounds – but it’s executed incredibly well.
The game features a roster of some 150 historically accurate tanks from three nations – Russia, Germany and the US (British and French tanks are going to be added in a future update).
